Steam users have uncovered a little piece of evidence that Valve’s Steam may be heading to the Xbox 360, but why would that happen now?
Perceptive Steam users have noticed that the online service’s support page now references both PS3 and Xbox in one of its user feedback boxes. So why is that strange? Well, Steam is only available on PC and PS3, and the later of the two is only because Microsoft likes to keep Xbox Live’s infrastructure close to the vest.
Valve hasn’t said anything about the matter yet, and while some outlets are speculating that this is an announcement in the works, the timing doesn’t seem to make sense. Wouldn’t it have been better for Valve and Microsoft to announce Steam for Xbox Live at E3 or Gamescom? And why would that announcement happen at the Tokyo Game Show, in a region where barely anybody owns an Xbox 360?
Whatever the reason, it seems like a lot of fuss over something that’s likely a typo or throwaway text. Either way, if we hear about it again, we’ll remember how suspicious and skeptical we were. We’d like to be wrong, though!

Leaked footage and screens of The Avengers suggests recently closed THQ studio was working on a really promising title. See for yourself.
Earlier today, WorldofSuperheroes.com and Kotaku got their hands on some leaked video and images of THQ’s cancelled The Avengers project. Meant to tie-in with the upcoming 2012 film, the game was set to be a first person action brawler. The project was meant to appear on the Xbox 360, PS3 and Microsoft Windows platforms with THQ Studio Australia in charge of the console versions while Blue Tongue Entertainment was in charge of the PC version. But alas, THQ’s Australian house (Studio Oz) has closed, and with it came the news of The Avengers: The Video Game’s cancellation.
Before THQ pulled the Youtube video, gamers got a chance to see what direction the doomed game was heading in: and surprisingly, it was a promising one. With its attention to detail, high-end graphics, and interesting twist on the brawling genre (when was the last time you had a solid brawler from the perspective of Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit?) the game put a lot of fanboys hearts aflutter.
THOR introduces a Skrull to his hammer.
But The Avengers: The Video Game also apparently impressed Marvel execs, which is partly why fans are clamoring for Marvel to find some other publisher for the game. Surely Marvel and Disney (who is distributing the film) will want to see a game come to life that already has such a built-in fanbase and is likely to help promote their blockbuster film?
Check out the screens below (courtesy of Kotaku and WorldofSuperheroes) and join us in hoping that the game does eventually see a release.

Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega Man, left Capcom late last year to pursue other projects outside of the company. According to an interview with 4gamer.net, Inafune tried to work with Capcom in order to continue the projects he had already started after his planned departure, but Capcom refused his offer. It was because of Capcom's reluctance to continue working with Inafune that we lost projects like Mega Man Legends 3.
Inafune was quoted saying, "I wanted to leave Capcom to recharge my energy, and support Capcom from there, but it seems they don’t allow it. I want to make all my effort to keep Legends 3 alive, but I’m really not sure I can do it." Inafune wanted to continue working on Capcom projects, but from a distance and on his own terms with his new company Comcept, but Capcom said no.
I'm still pretty disappointed that Mega Man Legends 3 won't be seeing the light of day, but it sounds like Inafune is still up for working on the project even if Capcom doesn't seem particularly interested in the idea.

UPDATE: The wait is almost over, Zelda fans! I received an email from First 4 Figures earlier today that said that my statue would ship out next week. As soon as it shows up in the office, I'll throw up a follow-up story with unboxing shots.
ORIGINAL STORY: Earlier this morning I heard a woman scream from the dark recesses of the Game Informer office. Upon further inspection I learned that scream came from Game Informer's own Jeff Akervik, our most devout Zelda fan and only male soprano. This was his response to someone telling him that First 4 Figures made its upcoming Dark Link figure available for pre-order.
First 4 Figures is offering two versions of this statue: the standard edition for $ 169.99, and the "Exclusive" version that features light-up eyes for $ 189.99. Only 500 units of the Exclusive edition are being made. Jeff and I have already claimed two of them. The standard edition is limited to 2,500 units.
Both statues stand in at 12 inches in height and will be available in the third quarter of this year. Pre-orders started today. I'm guessing the Exclusive model will be sold out by the end of the week.
