See The Witcher 2′s Enhanced Edition In Action

Console gamers will be able to check out CD Projekt's acclaimed RPG The Witcher 2 when it hits the Xbox 360 this April. It's not just a straight port, either. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition includes an all-new questline, which you can see in this newly released trailer.

While you'll only spy a few short moments of the additional content in the trailer below, publisher Warner Bros. says that the enhanced version will have more than three hours of new content. One thing's for certain: heads will roll, and dragons will reduce at least a few unfortunate dudes into smoldering piles of ash.

Look for the game on April 17.

The Etrian Odyssey series has gained a reputation through three Nintendo DS releases of being an unapologetically old-school, extremely difficult first-person dungeon crawler. Many gamers can't stand it, but for fans of the series — like myself — that's the draw. We haven't seen a new entry since 2010's Etrian Odyssey III (pictured), but that changes this summer.

SiliconEra reports that Japanese magazine Famitsu has revealed Etrian Odyssey IV: Legend of the Giant God, the first title in the series to appear on 3DS. Presumably the game will put the handheld's 3D capabilities to use, but it will also attempt to make the endless labyrinths more approachable with the inclusion of a casual difficulty setting.

Etrian Odyssey IV will release in Japan on July 5. Atlus has yet to announce whether it will make it to the U.S., but they're usually pretty dependable about bringing over first-party releases, so don't be surprised if it shows up eventually.

Late last year, we heard that Final Fantasy XIII-2 would be receiving Assassin's Creed clothing for main character Noel as DLC. That seems strange enough, but apparently Square isn't stopping the cross-company, cross-franchise add-ons there. A new rumor suggests that Mass Effect costume DLC is on the way for FF XIII-2.

SiliconEra is reporting this rumor from "a source," with no follow-up information on if the costume will be for Serah or Noel, when it will be released, or how much it might cost. With the release of Mass Effect 3 right around the corner, presumably we'll hear confirmation soon if this is legit.

Here's the real question, though: Who is spending money on dressing up your characters when it doesn't affect the gameplay at all? Maybe if the Mass Effect costume came with a rocket launcher to use in combat or something….

Valve: ‘If We Have To Sell Hardware We Will’

The makers of Half Life and Team Fortress are opening to the idea of creating more than just software experiences. Speaking in an interview with Penny Arcade, Valve boss Gabe Newell explains that while creating hardware isn't necessarily a first option, the company isn't shy about doing so if it needs to be done.

"If we have to sell hardware we will," he said. "We have no reason to believe we’re any good at it, it’s more we think that we need to continue to have innovation and if the only way to get these kind of projects started is by us going and developing and selling the hardware directly then that’s what we’ll do.

"It’s definitely not the first thought that crosses our mind; we’d rather hardware people that are good at manufacturing and distributing hardware do that. We think it’s important enough that if that’s what we end up having to do then that’s what we end up having to do."
