Epic Games unveiled the fourth piece of downloadable content for Gears of War 3.Excerpt]

The "Forces of Nature" DLC pack includes Cove, Aftermath and Artillery. Two old maps will be making a return, Jacinto and Raven Down. As the title implies, natural disasters will be a theme for this pack. "Fog, snowstorms and tsunamis will make playing these maps quite an adventure," Epic says.

The maps during Horde and Beast mode also have special hidden weapons called “Elemental Cleavers.” Also included are four character models, seven new weapon skins and 250 gamerscore points. Epic also says it's bringing back the Guardian game mode.

The Forces of Nature DLC is out March 27 and costs 800 MS Points or free for Gears of War 3 Season Pass holders.

Razer, which is known for making some of the most high-quality aftermarket gaming peripherals in the industry, has announced a series of products inspired by BioWare's upcoming RPG epic Mass Effect 3.

The products all sport a Mass Effect look and feel. Hardcore fans will be able to get a ME3 style keyboard and mouse (sold separately), mousepad, Xbox 360 controller, Xbox 360 gaming headset, messenger bag, and iPhone protector.

In one of the biting, off-the-cuff remarks that have become the hallmark of the company's press releases, Razer president Robert Krakoff said, “With our official line of peripherals and gear for Mass Effect 3, we’re giving fans the best gaming weaponry and hardware to meet the challenge head on – and come out victorious.”

Brian Fargo Wants To Bring Back Wasteland Via Crowd Funding

With Double Fine proving that going directly to fans to help fund game development can be more successful than previously thought, other developers are sure to follow suit and test out this new model. Brian Fargo, one of the brains behind some of the finest PC RPGs of the '80s, may be one of the first in line.

Yesterday, Fargo first shared his thoughts on bringing back the long-dead Wasteland franchise via a tweet: "Pondering bringing Wasteland back through this crowdfunding. It's a world I have longed to work with again."

If you've never heard of Wasteland, you might be more familiar with the post-apocalyptic RPG series that spun off from it: Fallout. Fargo points out in a later tweet, "People forget that Wasteland was the precursor to @fallout. We made Fallout because we didn't have the Wasteland rights." Fargo is also known for his work on A Bard's Tale and being involved in the creation of Black Isle, which included early BioWare titles like Baldur's Gate.

Though his tweets seemingly began as a mental exercise, they have quickly moved into the realm of intent. In a follow-up interview with IGN, Fargo seems much more certain about pursuing the project, saying it will be "focusing on top-down, probably isometric, party based, skill based — where if you'd just finished playing Wasteland and moved onto this you'd feel comfortable." If it happens, the game will be developed for PC first and foremost with an iOS release considered.

The Wasteland project isn't for sure yet, but Fargo says he's working with his team at developer inXile to see if it would be possible. Is this another Kickstarter you'd be willing to give your money toward?
